Cruise=fun. I saw why Kelly loves her job so much. Working 16 her days aren't so bad if you get to wear a hard hat, play in the mud and play with big machines. There was even an endless supply of coffee and nutter butters in the galley. I have to admit though that I spent the entire weekend with billy idol's "rock the cradle of love" in my head. It was something with the motion of the ship. So much fun though. I actually got to swab a deck. We got to take a bunch of cores in areas that are being deposited with out wash from the columbia river to see if the dams are changing sedimentation rates. then for fun we tried to core some cold water seeps/diapirs to see what was growing on them. i also found my first foram (science nerd that I am). its name is moby. Since american science boats are dry, there were several cases of chilled beer waiting for us at the docks. tonight andy and I went out with a couple of the boat crew for beers. All and all lots of fun. Love to all
