no one suspects the butterfly...

In retelling my journeys, as in making them, I do not know how to stop -- Rousseau

Yesterday I had the most happy afternoon. It was strange. I read Tracy and Kelly's Blogs and I just became utterly happy. The words from a song by the Peacemakers (a very fine band) kept going through my head "Liffe is Grand, Love is real and beauty is everywhere" It was so beautiful out the clouds were clearing a little and there was patchy sunlight. I met up with one of my friends who was not in as good of mood as I was and I think she thought I was a bit strange. Especially after my comment " I love how there are ducks everywhere here" I do like ducks though. i like any birds like ducks or puffins thatare round and fat and look as though they shouldn't fly. I worry about the ducks here though. They are always out on the rugby fields and when they tuck their necks in to sleep they have an uncanny resemblence to a rugby ball. It is a dangerous combination in a country where rugby and drinking are the national passtimes. Other than my good afternoon I went to a vegan potluck laast night and it reminded me of home. The meal wasn't as smashing as the ones at home but it was good food and a lot of it. I got a lot of good e-mails yesterday and it made me realize how many wonderful friends I have. I really wish that everyone was here with me. There are so many things that I want to show you all. Kiwi word of the day: Zed: use instead of the letter z. I argue that it is not new zedland but no one really cares. They like zed.
