Monday again. I have a test on Wed. Eww optical min. Don't know a thing. Sit in class and look out the window. Listen to my TA tell stories about taking over the administration building, making explosives and making his own suit of chain mail. Haven't learned much about minerals. I went tramping this weekend. It was beautiful. My friend Corrinne and I went up towards the mountains and back packed into a hut. It was beautiful. there were some sketchy cows that hung around the hut and some increadibly dodgy swinging bridges. But I am alive. As soon as we got to the hut and were standing on the porch it started to snow. It was beautiful but very cold. We just climbed into our sleeping bags at 730 and talked until we could fall asleep. The next morning was amazing. While the day before it had looked as though we were in the emerald city with all of the green the next morning everything was white and crunchy. It was the first completely blue sky day I have seen here. We hiked out and went to a town called Hamner Springs where there are hot springs. It was far too touristy for us after not seeing any one for the last day so we just got some tea and headed back to CHCH. I went to my friends flat and watched Austin Powers. There were some extra scenes. Did you know that Christian Slater was in it? I met a guy from Flagstaff too. He goes to a different university down here. We then went to a house party hosted by some geo kids. Sunday I just sat on the balcony and studied. I went down town for a bit to try to find a birthday present for my sister. Didn't find anything. Went out to dinner and stayed up way to late watching movies on TV.
