I know it is just carbon but it kind of creeps me out to make grandma into a family heirloom. On the geology level it kind of sounds like fun.

Yeah, that's weird in a freaky Angelina Jolie-ish kinda way (since she wore a vial of her husband's blood around her neck when she was married). But in terms of the science - pretty damn cool.
