We stayed in a catholic boarding school. Interesting to say the least. The girls dorms were about 1/3 of a mile from the rest of the school and we had to be in by 930 at nigh or they would alarm the doors and lock us out. There was a back way through a dodgy alley but the only time I took it we got lost and ended up waiting around the pub for our professors to finish their drinks and let us in. We stayed in the third form dorms (~12 yrs old). My roommate was super cute and we got up early to do yoga together. I was a bit frightened of the girl whose room I was occupying. There were the normal Josh Hartnet and Roxy posters and then there was the giant poster of a cow and all of the cuts of meat. The cans of spam decorating all of the shelves, the Oscar Meyer ads on the walls, the thing that resembled a pigs ear hanging from the ceiling ( I didn’t look too close there are some things you don’t want to know). The outcrops were amazing and beautiful. The people were so much fun. There was only one annoying mature student. She had a son who is 20 and kept flirting with all of the guys. Guess what? An American that took masters classes at ASU. The world is too small. I talked a lot with everyone about school and New Zealand music and politics and everything under the sun. It is so interesting to hear it all. The last night we (at least the slackers of the class. Went to the Pub instead of doing our office work. It was fun. I played pool and lost. My lucky streak is over. No one would hit the eight ball in for me. I learned that my TA’s couldn’t figure out the Maria-Beth thing and had started referring to me as Jill behind my back. That was later justified by all of the times I fell. You know, jack and jill went up the hill…. Do I look like a Jill? Another question. Why is it so funny when people are from the south? One of the other Americans is from Mississippi and I laugh about it all the time. There is no reason for it. I just think it is funny.
Other news The 28th is Joanie’s birthday. If you don’t know her she has dark hair, is super cute and works at the Mars centre by the MU as a secretary. She likes chocolate. If you see her say happy birthday for me would you please?
